At the Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN), we believe the hours beyond the school day are some of the most powerful in a young person’s life. It’s where confidence grows, skills sharpen, dreams take shape, and a stronger Missouri is built.
Since 2002, MASN has been more than a network; we’ve been a bridge between policy and practice, opportunity and achievement, and today’s students and tomorrow’s workforce.
Now, Missouri stands at a crossroads. The need for afterschool and summer learning is surging, families are working harder than ever, and communities are calling for lasting solutions that create real impact.
MASN is leading the charge with five bold commitments:
- Create safe, welcoming spaces that keep youth protected and families supported. When students have safe and supportive spaces after school, entire communities grow stronger. Afterschool programs act as anchors—keeping kids safe, families working, and neighborhoods thriving.
- Expand access so geography, income, or circumstance never limit a child’s potential. Talent is everywhere. Opportunity must be too. Expanding access to high-quality programs ensures every student has a path to reach their potential.
- Fuel workforce and entrepreneurial development to prepare students for leadership. Today’s students are tomorrow’s leaders, creators, and innovators. MASN invests early, weaving leadership, entrepreneurship, and real-world skills into afterschool experiences.
- Elevate quality by investing in programs that set national standards for excellence. A program is only as powerful as its quality. We champion excellence, providing professional development, resources, and continuous improvement tools to every afterschool partner.
- Strengthen communities by supporting programs that bring students, parents, and neighborhoods together. Thriving students come from thriving families. Afterschool programs open doors for parents and caregivers seeking education, resources, and community.
Together, we can open more doors, reach more students, and ignite more futures to make Missouri stronger, safer, and more resilient for generations.
