ABOUT PARKWAY-ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY ED:

Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed is a partnership of the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts that provides high-quality programs that enhance the quality of life for residents.

 

POSITION SUMMARY
As a member of the Community Ed team, the Adventure Club Supervisor provides leadership and assistance in the school-age care program to ensure the program furthers the mission of Community Ed in the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Provide leadership for assigned sites within the school-age care program, which can include visiting sites and directing staff to ensure programming needs and quality control standards of the program are being met and in alignment with defined objectives and expectations.
Collaborate with school-age care supervisory team in the design and delivery of program curriculum, standards and professional development opportunities for staff.
Collaborate with school-age care supervisory team in the recruitment, interviewing, placement, training, scheduling and evaluation of program staff as needed.
Responsible for management and oversight of assigned site budgets to ensure program is financially sound and contributes to the financial success of Community Ed. This includes educating and maintaining effective communication with staff regarding budgets and seeking support and guidance from the Community Ed operations team as needed.
Regularly monitor staff schedules and time keeping process to ensure employees are coded and paid properly.
Fill-in at site when needed due to staff shortage.
Work with site-based program staff on identifying and removing obstacles and barriers for success when possible; escalate to supervisor as needed.
Create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including schools and parents.
Serve as a member of the Community Ed Management Team
Serve as member of assigned department-wide committee as determined by supervisor
Under direction of coordinator, collaborate with Inclusion Specialist to ensure participant success in program by conveying a thorough understanding of program parameters and incorporating training for staff as needed.
Under direction of coordinator, collaborate with marketing team by conveying a thorough understanding of program and help generate ideas on marketing plan.
Under direction of coordinator, collaborate with operations team on process and procedures related to tasks to support programming.
Represent Community Ed at programs and events, in the districts, and at community events as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Ability to think strategically, take initiative and administer effective leadership in developing and implementing a quality program for patrons.
Work in a cross functional, team-based environment and collaborate with others in setting goals and problem solving.
Must work well as part of a team and individually.
Maintain a thorough understanding of Community Ed programs and services.
Ability to establish and execute priorities with minimum direction or instruction.
Ability to train and lead assigned staff to effectively meet program needs.
Possess strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to judge when situations and/or information should be called to the attention of supervisor
Ability to access all locations in the Parkway and Rockwood School Districts.
Ability to work a flexible schedule including early morning or evening hours when required.
Ability to bend, twist, lift and manipulate equipment, supplies and mail.
Ability to lift at least 35 lbs either individually or with a co-worker as needed.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
2+ years experience in child and youth development program
Previous experience supervising employees.
Experience planning curriculum for child and youth development program preferred.
Strong writing, analytical, communications and organizational skills.
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at the same time.
Working knowledge of Google Workspaces and Microsoft Office software.
EQUIPMENT USED:

General office equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Within assigned building(s) in Parkway and Rockwood locations; outside of school buildings as needed, which may include during inclement weather.
While performing duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear, walk, stand and reach.
This is a full-time position with starting salary range of $54,500/year and includes the following:
