The Missouri AfterSchool Network would like to thank all the afterschool staff and directors across the state for their early mornings and late nights ensuring that children and youth have a safe place to be before and after school.
Since its launch in 2000, Lights On Afterschool has been the only nationwide rally celebrating the importance and impact of afterschool programs. Each year, more than 1 million people to join the festivities, shining a light on how these programs positively affect children, families, and communities.
This year, Missouri is making a big splash. Although our state ranks 18th in population, we proudly hold the 9th spot in the number of Lights On Afterschool events logged with the Afterschool Alliance! Currently, 123 events have been registered, and we invite you to find one near you using this link. If you’re hosting an event and haven’t yet registered it, please let us know about your plans here.
