Hey there, afterschool champions! Brad Lademann here, and I’m reaching out to ask for your help in making a big difference for afterschool programs in our communities.

The National League of Cities and the Missouri AfterSchool Network (MASN) are hosting the first-ever MASN Municipal Institute, a half-day session designed just for city leaders who want to expand and support afterschool access. This is a unique opportunity to equip our local mayors, city managers, councilmembers, and superintendents with the tools and strategies they need to help our programs thrive.

I know you’re already giving it your all to provide quality afterschool opportunities for youth — and it’s no small task. To really expand access and sustainability, we need our city leaders on board as strong advocates. At the MASN Municipal Institute, these leaders will connect with national experts to learn about innovative funding, system-building strategies, and real-world practices that can make a difference.

City leaders can even bring along two partners to work with them. Ideal partners include school district administrators, parks and recreation directors, and, yes, people like you — afterschool program directors who know the needs of our local youth. Your presence can help them bring these ideas home and turn them into real change.

If you’re interested in learning more or want to encourage your local leaders to attend, please reach out to me directly. Let’s work together to strengthen afterschool programs and expand opportunities for every young person in our communities!

Feel free to contact me anytime to learn more about the Institute and how you can get involved.
