Join our CRRSA funding update for afterschool providers on September 3!

CRRSA FUNDING UPDATE: Join MASN for a CRRSA specific afterschool update for Friday, September 3, 2021 from 10-11 a.m to discuss important information about how CRRSA funds can support afterschool programs.  During this Zoom session, we will provide an overview of the opportunities and have a few afterschool directors share their experience applying for the funds.  Please use this link to register.

We encourage you to go to the DESE Office of Childhood’s Child Care Relief Funds website for more information about the following CRRSA opportunities:

  • **Current Programs** Paycheck Protection Program – This funding opportunity allows child care providers to apply for costs incurred between January 1 – June 30, 2021. Providers must attest that they did not receive or qualify for other COVID-19 funds during the time period they are applying for these funds. Providers must include copies of receipts or applicable documentation with the application.  Subsidy and non-subsidy providers can receive funds based on program/facility size. Costs may include payroll/benefits, mortgage interest, rent, utilities, worker protection costs related to COVID-19, and certain supplies/expenses for operations. Deadline to apply for is October 31, 2021.
  • ** Communities/schools wanting to start an afterschool program**  Start-Up/Expansion/Enhancement – This funding opportunity allows for start-up of a new facility, expansion of current facilities to increase the number of children served, and enhancement for upgrades to existing programs.  Subsidy and non-subsidy providers can receive funds based on program/facility size. Start-up and/or expansion allows up to three (3) months of lease/rent for new space and/or new staff for the expanded space. Expansion may include minor remodeling, but Enhancement does not allow for this. Deadline to apply for is June 30, 2022.
  • ** Current Programs** Technical/Business Assistance – This funding opportunity allows for the purchase of software and hardware to enhance business operations. Expenses may include surveillance equipment to increase safety of children and reimbursement for annual license/subscription for business software programs. This funding does not allow for technology to increase family engagement through videos, texts, updates, and virtual check ins.  Subsidy and non-subsidy providers can receive funds based on program/facility size. Deadline to apply is September 30, 2022.
  • ** Evening and Weekend Programs** Non-Traditional Care – This funding opportunity allows child care providers to apply for Non-Traditional Care for hours in the evening between 7:01 p.m. to 5:59 a.m. and weekends Saturday 6:00 a.m. to Sunday at 7:00 p.m.  Subsidy and non-subsidy providers who cared for children during non-traditional hours between July 1, 2020 and July 31, 2021 may apply for these funds of $1,000 per slot with a maximum of five (5) slots per provider/payee. Non-subsidy providers must attach attendance records to the application. Deadline to apply is September 30, 2021.
