Attention afterschool directors and staff! If you haven’t already discovered the You for Youth (commonly known as Y4Y) website, please check it out!

The You for Youth (Y4Y) Portal is operated under contract by the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Elementary and Secondary Education, specifically to provide resources for 21CCLC programs. It has a wealth of resources including course tools such as planners and checklists, as well as professionalization resources and external links. Of particular interest to many programs are their resources on family engagement, school day linkages, SEL, and STEM. STEM Initiatives that are part of the Y4Y collaborative include NASA, NPS (National Park Service), NOAA, and IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services – a GREAT Maker resource). By creating an account, you can save course progress and receive certificates of completion. And best of all – it’s free. You can find the very user friendly website at https://y4y.ed.gov/
