Regional Lights On Afterschool Events

In June 2016, MASN partnered with the Kansas Enrichment Network, the National League of Cities, and the United Way to host its first Municipal Summit on Afterschool and Expanded Learning in Kansas City, MO. The purpose of the summit was to elevate the afterschool policy conversation in the region by convening community leaders to share knowledge, strategies, ideas and resources for growing systems of afterschool in their communities.

Watch a video recap of the Kansas & Missouri Municipal Summit here, produced by the LINC program in Kansas City.

In building on the momentum from the initial summit, MASN is partnering with local afterschool providers and partners in areas throughout the state to host regional events which mirror the purpose of the bi-state summit. In October, during the week of the nationwide Lights On Afterschool celebration (October 20, 2016), MASN will host summits in Branson and St. Louis. See below for more event details. Local, state, and federal policymakers, business leaders, afterschool program funders and partners, and other champions of afterschool and summer learning programs are strongly encouraged to attend to learn more about supporting strong systems of afterschool in your region.
